Aespa's Ningning opens her own Weibo account

Article: "Aespa fans in shock" Chinese member Ningning is the only one to open Chinese SNS Weibo

Source: Insight via Instagram

[+290] She's Chinese to the bone, what do you expect... Not only is she only here to make money, she's potentially tainting Aespa's image as well... so just let her take her money and go.
- [+6] Let her go where? She never said she's leaving. Instagram is banned in China so she opened a Weibo to communicate with her Chinese fans, what's the big deal.. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

[+170] No one's shocked over this, you fools. Chinese members in other idol groups all have their own Weibos, and tons of Korean idols have actually opened their own as well. She's been suffering for years in our country just to be treated like she's going to run back to China, and I'll make note of you all! Leave Ningning alone~~!!

[+150] I don't get why our country makes such a big deal out of this. It's not like we send our artists overseas and expect them to change ethnicities to wherever they're working in? Ningning has always been Chinese, and she's only here to work here, not become a Korean citizen. Stop treating her like trash and assuming the worst of her...

[+130] I never know what the true motives behind the decisions Chinese idols make are. I heard that once Chinese idols gain enough experience here, they get a ton of offers and pressure from Chinese investors.

[+109] It can't be helped. There's already a set precedent of Chinese idols who gain enough experience and fame going back to China. Just look at SM's history. They may no longer be promoting in our country but they're all active back home.
- [+21] But what else do you expect them to do? Even our own Korean idols have to find other career paths once their idol careers fizzle out, and you can't expect the foreign members to launch acting careers here? And companies stop giving you comebacks after their focus shifts to their new rookie group...
- NCT has the biggest ratio of Chinese members and they're all still here, so what's your problem again?

[+45] No one's shocked

[+44] What? ㅋㅋ All of the Chinese members in NCT have Weibos... and did any of them run away?... ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

[+33] No one in Aespa's fanbase is shocked ㅋㅋㅋ All this nonsense over creating an SNS account in her own country. I feel like anyone who's assuming the worst of her are just egging her on to live up to their assumptions...

[+21] Oh, shut up. There are a ton of other groups who have Weibo accounts but of course people are the worst to Ningning about it.

[+10] All of SM's Chinese artists have Weibos. Why would you expect her not to have one?

[+6] What are people going on about. She's never said she was going back to China. She made a Weibo because China has a VPN ban on SNS and there's no other way for her to communicate with her Chinese fans. This is the same as if we were hating on a Korean star in China for creating a Korean SNS account. I don't get why people are so mean to a kid who came here because she loves our country and has actually undergone the longest training period out of Aespa... With all this hate, I wouldn't blame her if she wanted to leave at all. I know that a lot of Chinese idols have moved to China, not just in SM, but there are still a lot of hard-working Chinese idols left here, and it's unfair to jump to assumptions and hate about them before they've even done anything.

[+2] This type of hate helps no one. It's like hating on a Korean star who's working in another country for opening a Naver blog account. Unbelievable to hate on a Chinese star for opening an SNS account from her own country ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ You all expect way too much from idols who only have so many years in their career anyway.

Jennie's 'The Idol' debut sparks criticisms

Article: Jennie's American debut drama under criticism for highly s*xual content "Abusive s*x fantasy"

Source: No Cut News via Naver

[+705, -44] Jennie doesn't seem normal to me

[+355, -6] Isn't she at a level where she doesn't need to partake in these things?

[+337, -23] I'm honestly disappointed in her... "She was used"? She's not a rookie, she chose to do this drama, and I don't know how anyone can defend this as being "artistic"?? It's disgusting and gross... Did she not think about what her parents would feel if they saw this? Or is she willing to just do anything as long as she gets paid, stripping and dancing and all? She's no superstar...

[+192, -10] I don't know why she felt the need to stoop to this... tsk tsk tsk. The song, the choreography... She's like a puppet who just does whatever she's told, takes on concepts that other people make for her... What does she know how to judge for herself other than what her next cellphone is going to be?

[+79, -1] She voluntarily cheapened herself

[+57, -0] We're watching in real time one of the hottest brands cheapen themselves to nothing... It really only takes a moment.

[+38, -0] What a waste of the luxury image she's built for herself, along with tainting Chanel's image. The other dances weren't doing any of the s*xual dances that Jennie and the two men were so why? Why did she choose to film this?

[+37, -2] It made me uncomfortable because it felt like she was being used by the show. Or was this some attempt at trying to pull down a Korean idol... I just want to know what the director or even her own agency was thinking by putting her in this?

[+34, -1] This isn't Jennie's fault. The blame goes to her agency for failing to manage their eye for picking and rejecting projects like this.

[+29, -2] Totally felt like they were all high or something

[+22, -0] She threw K-Pop's image into the trash

[+26, -5] It definitely looked like they were doing it

[+16, -1] From advertising Chanel... to looking this cheap.

[+16, -2] I feel like a big scandal is brewing for her one day

[+13, -0] The fact that she's an artist and yet she consented to partake in something like this without even attempting to understand the depth of everything that's involved... tsk tsk. Or is YG the one to blame? Did they get greedy and force her into this?

[+11, -0] I don't get why people are acting like Jennie's the victim when it's obvious that she chose to volunteer for this ㅋㅋ She's always been like this

[+11, -0] Quite the... debut...

[+11, -0] The blame goes to Jennie, her agency, and all the people around them who didn't put a stop to this, tsk tsk

[+7, -0] Just look up her scene on YouTube... it is definitely erotic. The moves were meant to look like s*x moves. I don't see why there was ever a need to go this far.

[+7, -0] Jennie's quite dumb sometimes ㅠㅠ

[+7, -1] She's almost 30... who cares if she shoots a bed scene or a straight-up s*x scene? It's up to her, no?

[+6, -0] Perhaps she thought the scene looked cool at the time of filming... and now that it's on screen, it doesn't...

[+5, -0] Please just stick to being a singer. This is only cheapening your image.

[+5, -0] The facial expression on that man is gross

[+5, -0] Jennie's brain seems to be emptying out, hmmm? She has no eye for these things... shouldn't you know better than to say yes to this? It's not like you're poor and can't refuse the money?

[+4, -0] I just don't know why she would want to do this... It's not like it's some highly artistic movie that is worthy of praise? She's rich, Black Pink is doing well... this was totally filmed for the male gaze. I'm sure her fans would be more supportive if she looked sexy and cool but this has passed the level of sexy into straight-up back-alley cheapness... It cheapened her image. tsk tsk

[+4, -0] Smooth brain

[+4, -0] Yeah, her image is... tanking ㅠ

Black Pink becomes the target of Chinese netizens for their shoutout to Macanese Blinks

Article: Black Pink has become a target to Chinese netizens because of one word... what is happening?

Source: JTBC via Naver

[+535, -5] They're nitpicking

[+466, -5] It's like if Koreans were to get mad because a singer performed in Incheon and were like "Thank you for coming, people from Incheon." I don't understand why China would get mad just because they thanked their Macanese fans.

[+393, -3] It's easy to see just how ridiculous China's being if you imagine a foreign star coming to perform in our country and our government getting involved because they used a term that we don't agree with. It's shameful.

[+288, -5] A country with an inferiority complex

[+23, -1] So it's like... they're getting mad over a singer performing in Jeju and thanking their fans for coming by saying "Thank you to our people of Jeju" instead of "our people of Korea~"?... because I seriously don't understand why they're mad...

[+17, -0] Black Pink's popular enough without having to go to China anyway. Just ignore them~

[+10, -0] They're the ones always illegally downloading our content and yet they've got so much hate to spew about it...

[+7, -1] Don't bother apologizing to them

[+3, -0] Ignore everything no matter what they do. Don't bother responding.

[+3, -0] It's unreal how petty they can get... tsk tsk tsk

[+3, -0] Just ignore them. The ignorance is not worth responding to. You should only respond when they get on your level... tsk tsk.

Article: Cannes red carpet goes crazy for Aespa... local reaction is explosive

Source: News 1 Entertainment TV via YouTube

[+371] They all look crazy good but Karina really looks like a younger Cheon Seo Jin in that dress.. They all look so great in flashy styling like this.

[+261] That's a legendary red carpet appearance. They look like classy goddesses. All of their outfits, hair, other stylings are perfectly tailored to them ㅠㅠ I heard they're the first K-Pop group to attend and I'm so proud of them ㅎㅎ

[+185] Wow, Karina looks insane;;;; dyeing her hair back to black was the best thing to happen because she looks gorgeous and has a has a crazy aura. She looks like AI.

[+117] Beautiful Aespa 🥹💙 They look great in the Chopard jewelry as well

[+87] Crazy form... they truly look like queens...

[+72] Their hair and make up look absolutely perfect]

[+42] Karina just looks insane ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

[+32] Ningning looks so cute ㅋㅋㅋ like a baby out with her mom and dad

[+27] What the, Giselle looks so good;;; she really matches flashy styling like this

China makes moves to bring back Hallyu ban by blocking Korean stars and Naver

Article: 'Anti Korean' sentiment in China grows, Jung Yong Hwa's TV appearance canceled, Naver and Daum get banned

Source: Wikitree via Instagram

[+113] And the Chinese will continue to torrent and plagiarize our content regardless ㅋㅋ

[+61] They'll be watching our stuff illegally anyways

[+51] And they're still going to watch it illegally, unless they start executing their own people for doing so....

[+37] Jung Yong Hwa did all that work for nothing..

[+30] Better for us 🔥😂

[+26] ㅋㅋㅋ No, I actually prefer this

[+18] That's fine!! Just don't torrent our stuff ilegally..

[+14] Just let China live in isolation. They're able to, right?

[+14] They better not come to our country either, then

[+9] Not the first time they've done this

[+4] Let them be ㅋㅋㅋ

[+3] They've always, always been like this ㅋㅋ

[+2] What a joke. It's not like we have anything to lose. They're the ones who are going to get bored without Korean content and get fidgety over it soon enough.

[+2] Petty
